Why Quarter 1 Wasn’t Terrible

This quarter has been ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. B days are my favorite. At heritage we alternate from A days to B days. On A days I have health, math, ELA, and science. On B days, I have social justice, math, ELA , and social studies. I’m in health right now but starting Monday (technically yesterday) I’ll be going back to gym class and another group will go to health. That I know of, my grades are pretty good. I only know my grades from 3 out of my 6 classes. Hopefully next quarter I keep my grades at threes and fours, as of right now, I don’t have any ones or twos that I know of. After school, I am president of the Me to We club and in speech and drama. I am anything but a sporty person, but I still like going to the basketball games. What do you like to do after school?

Beautiful

This quote by Rupi Kaur is very important to me. When I first read this poem I didn’t think too much of it until I was thinking about it the next day. This is an important quote because now people are being negatively impacted by magazines and models thinking that they aren’t beautiful, that the people on the covers are. But everyone is beautiful inside and out, but it’s heartbreaking to see someone younger than I am, saying that they aren’t beautiful.

Where I Hope to be in 10 Years

In 10 years, I see myself graduating an arts college, majoring in sing and acting. I would want to attend school in Los Angeles or Hollywood. I would want to live in a studio apartment (they're cheaper) with some friends and 2 little dogs. Around this time I'd be trying to kick off my singing and acting career. If acting and singing doesn't work out then I'd go to college to study computer software engineering and try to work at nascar to program their cars. If neither of those careers work than I'd go to school to become a science teacher and (hopefully) by then I'd have my life together.

The Shocking Surprise

It was a sunny spring afternoon in New Lenox. I was with my cousins and we had just finished eating. My cousins and I went out for a bit and when we came back in my oldest cousin, Tati, said she wanted to make an announcement. She went to the front of the room with her husband as we all found a place to sit. She hesitated at first, but then her and her husband said joyfully "we're pregnant!"

"She's kidding right?"
"I sure hope so" said our judge mental abuelas. My mom and tia ran up to her screaming (in an excited way) to congratulate her. I couldn't decide if I was happy or not so I stayed quiet for the time being.

Later that day when I was telling my best friend the details, Tati comes in and asked how I felt about her being pregnant again. I explained how she just had twins and by the time she has the new baby her twins wil barely be turning one! Meanwhile her oldest will be turning turning 19 and ready to move out and go to college the following fall. I wasn't the most excited but she's family and I love her and will be there for her no matter what.

As much as my mom and I tell her it's ok that there's another little one coming soon and that we're happy for her, she's still a little shooken up with how the rest of the family reacted. Now that the baby's due within the next 2 months, she's finally happy about her surprise baby.
